Caring for makeup brushes
To properly care for your favorite brushes and make them last for many years, it's essential to clean them correctly. There are several ways to clean brushes, depending on the level of dirtiness and the time you have available.
Method 1. Water-based cleaning: Suitable for heavily soiled brushes. Take a mild shampoo or soap (baby series soap is ideal), wet the brush, and gently lather its bristles. Then use a special silicone mat (scroll in the carousel) and gently slide the brush on it. Avoid applying too much pressure or aggressive movements to avoid damaging the bristles. The various textures on the silicone mat allow you to wash brushes of all sizes and shapes, and the special round hole makes it convenient to hold during washing. We specifically designed this functional mat to make brush care as pleasant and useful as possible. Rinse the brush with running water and gently pat the bristles with a towel or paper napkin. It is essential to carefully shape the brush with your hands and put on a special mesh cover. If you skip this step, the brush may lose its shape and become splayed after drying. We have taken care of this too - Roubloff branded mesh covers are available for purchase on the official website and from dealers (third slide). Then, lay the brush on a towel and let it dry horizontally, slightly tilting the bristles downwards. Never place brushes directly on a radiator, heater, or in direct sunlight. Drying time: several hours, depending on the bristle density and room temperature.
Method 2. Special brush cleaner: Suitable for lightly and moderately soiled brushes, as well as for quick cleaning between clients if you are a professional makeup artist. Additionally, this cleaner is indispensable for travel and allows you to quickly and easily take care of your brushes wherever you go. Roubloff brush cleaner has a subtle pleasant scent and a soft foam texture. It cleans and deodorizes the brushes effectively, contains an antibacterial complex, and does not contain alcohol. Convenient packaging, economical consumption, and a pleasant price will certainly please you. Spray a small amount of the product on a cotton pad or paper napkin and gently clean the brush from different sides. Replace the pad or napkin as it gets dirty. After the brush is clean, reshape it with your fingers to its original form. Drying time: approximately 1-2 minutes.
Method 3. Cleaning wipes: Suitable for lightly and moderately soiled brushes, as well as for instant cleaning. Roubloff cleaning wipes, developed in collaboration with Misha Vidyayev, are a real find for those who forget to clean brushes or do makeup in a hurry. The wipes are sold in a convenient and practical package that takes up little space. They are indispensable for professionals as they allow you to clean brushes even during makeup application! Take out a wipe, and after using it, carefully close the package; otherwise, the wipes may dry out. Gently glide the brush back and forth on the wipe until the bristles become clean. The wipes have two cleaning surfaces, allowing you to clean up to 10 brushes with a single wipe. Drying time: the brushes are instantly ready for use.
All the mentioned methods are suitable for brushes with both natural and synthetic bristles. Be cautious with alcohol-based cleaning agents as they are not suitable for delicate natural bristles (as they may become stiff and prickly over time). Always clean your brushes before every makeup application (even better, after each makeup application to avoid harmful bacteria). Enjoy beautiful makeup, healthy skin, and the excellent condition of your brushes!
